Takapuna Hand Therapy

Takapuna Hand Therapy is a specialist hand and upper limb physiotherapy practice.

This practice was opened in April of 2008 by Ellen van Essen – a registered hand therapist with over 14 years experience in the area of hand and upper limb therapy.

Ellen returned to Auckland in the latter part of 2007 after spending a year and a half with her family, living and working in Perth – Western Australia. After deciding to settle on the North Shore, she started looking at setting up a practice locally, working mostly school hours to fit in with the needs of her family. Her clinic hours are currently MON / WED / FRID from 9am – 2pm.

The practice is located on Lake Road – the main road running between Takapuna and Devonport in an old villa in the middle of the Belmont shops. (see our location map)

This practice holds an ACC hand therapy contract. This means that the cost of all therapy and splinting for ACC injury patients is covered – we DO NOT surcharge.

This practice is committed to providing a professional friendly service with a personal touch!
